Fun on the air pillow… Before he got a bloody nose

This was the first time we have ever stayed at a KOA (Kampgrounds of America). We called to get a special deal of stay 2 nights get the 3rd 80% off for 1st time campers. This was one of the more expensive KOA’s that we saw but it was in the exact area we wanted to visit (Santa Cruz / Monterey) so we booked a tent site for $229 and then also joined KOA for $30 more as we figured we’d want to camp at their different site around the country.

Well, let’s just say that we were very impressed!

Check in was easy. We found our site, #9, which was big and had lots of shade from tree cover. It was the largest of all the tent sites in that stretch.

It was dirt and mulch for the tent area but it was perfect.

Overall the entire place was pretty quiet as it was low season the first week of June and still a bit cold for the area. Nights were pretty chilly and the days were warm.

This was a great place for little kids. Huge play area with slides and lots to climb on, palm tree climbing twice a day, activities like making a colored sand container. There was a twice daily kids train ride which Sebastian LOVED. The pool was sparkling clean and the laundry area was open 24/7. There were even bouncies and a HUGE bounce pillow.

We had lots to do each day and 5he wifi in the park was also great. We never left the park and really enjoyed having a few days to just stay in one area while also having some creature comforts like real bathrooms and clean and hot showers.

We had a great time here and highly recommend it. Check out
